What is a Bathtub Liner?

A tubliner is a new bathtub custom-made to fit perfectly over an existing tub.  It is manufactured using a sheet of co-extruded DR/ABS (Durable Rubber Acrylic/Acrylanytril Butadine Styrene).  The acrylic portion of the product, the DR is the top 10% of the sheet.  It is pigmented a solid color then modified for a high-impact surface.  The ABS is the bottom 90% of the sheet.  Like the DR, it is also pigmented.  ABS is used because it is rigid, yet capable of flexibility.

Using a process called co-extrusion, a single sheet is manufactured by combining both materials simultaneously.  It is not like laminating, which is heat-bonding two pieces together.  Laminated goods may separate or peel especially in the hot humidity found in the bathroom.  Please, call the product DR/ABS Acrylic, not plastic.  With different length capacity, assorted colors, and the variety of molds ready at the manufacturing facility, there are thousands of tub styles available.  Every tubliner has an NAHB approved slip-resistant bottom.

With its durable surface, DR/ABS will not chip, crack, or scratch easily or peel.  It is also easy to clean; with proper care, it will retain its gloss for many years.  DR/ABS is a non-organic compound and is not affected by most acidic drain cleaners.  A list of recommended cleansers is available.  If improper cleansers are used, damage can occur and void the manufacturer’s warranty.  Keep in mind, the less effort expended in scrubbing the bath area, the better the DR/ABS acrylic will look!

Can you do the same to my shower?
Yes, we form an acrylic shower baseliner to your base measurements and install it over your existing fiberglass, tile, concrete or terrazzo base.

What about tile walls?
We install an acrylic 3-wall system right over existing walls that go from the floor to the ceiling with a bullnose on the front edge of the two side walls for a finished appearance. We finish with a 100% silicone sealant forced into the seams that is color-matched to the walls along with a mildewcide incorporated into the sealant.

Is it easy to clean?
Acrylic is a non-porous material that will not trap dirt, all you need is a non-abrasive cleaner like Dawn liquid dish soap and water, Scrub-Free, 409, or Fantastic Spray. You will love the ease of maintenance with Acrylic.

What are the color options?
Bathtub Liners and shower based liners come in four solid colors: white, almond, biscuit and gray. Wall surrounds come in all four solid colors and two marbleized colors: silver/white and almond/white. We also have a simulated-tile pattern wall system in all four solid colors.

What is a wall system?

A 1/8" to 3/16" thick acrylic 3 piece wall system that is designed to go right over your existing tile, which can go from ceiling to floor in one piece.  We remove and reinstall your existing plumbing fixtures, and install a soap dish made out of the same material as the wall.

Can a wall surround be installed around a window?
Yes, we custom-cut our walls to fit around the window and use color-matched molding to frame your window. For a water-tight finish.

Do you offer accessories?
We offer the following matching accessories: Grab bars, corner caddies, tower caddies, soap dishes, ceiling panels, wainscoting, curved curtain rods, and shower doors.

How long does the installation take?
The actual installation takes one day and you can use the bathtub or shower the next day.

Can I purchase just the wall surround?
If your bathtub or shower is in good shape, yes, we will install the wall surround only. We can also install a bathtub liner by itself if your walls are solid and leak-free.

My tile does not go to the ceiling, do you need to stop at that height?
No, we can  fur-out the top area so the walls are installed level and go to the ceiling. This eliminates the need to paint or wall paper.

Can I install this myself?
We do not recommend do-it-yourself installation due to skill needed to cut the acrylic. Factory-trained technicians using factory-specific tools that are not sold to the general public do the installation.
